Production IT Engineer Position Overview

Veridos America is looking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Production IT Engineer who will be responsible for the configuration, administration and optimization of production software related to card personalization in the main ID Personalization Center of Veridos America in US.
 

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in automating deployment processes, enhancing system reliability, and ensuring the security personalization of government documents. The position collaborates closely with a small team from product management, QA, IT and Production.
 

Duties and Essential Functions

  • Configuring and managing the software environment required mainly for Entrust MX machines to operate efficiently. This involves installing necessary software, configuring settings, and ensuring compatibility with other systems in the production environment.

  • Create and configure machine setups for all different jobs based on customer requirements upon new projects or Change Requests.
  • Integrating production systems with other database management systems such as customer relationship management (CRM) software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, ensuring seamless data flow and automation of processes across different departments.
  • Providing training and support to production staff on how to use the Entrust MX machines effectively and efficiently. This may involve creating user manuals, conducting training sessions, and offering ongoing technical support to address any user issues or questions.
  • Overseeing the setup, configuration, and ongoing development of the Veridos cloud-based personalization system and ensure seamless data flow process from enrollment to personalization and issuance.
  • Monitoring the performance of the Personalization systems machines and identifying areas for optimization. This includes analyzing system metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity and throughput.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards governing card personalization processes, such as PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). This involves staying up to date with regulatory requirements and implementing necessary controls to ensure compliance.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps. This documentation serves as a reference for future troubleshooting efforts and audits. Additionally, generating regular reports on system performance, uptime, and any incidents for management review.
  • Staying informed about advancements in technology related to card personalization and IT infrastructure. This includes attending training sessions, participating in industry forums, and pursuing certifications to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as Production IT Engineer, Process Engineer, Data and Layout Expert.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering field.
  • Proven record in card Manufacturing or Personalization environment.
  • Experience with Entrust software such as MX Card Issuance Systems, Concad, etc.
  • Programming skills in other languages, like Java, Python, C, C++, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience in the usage of tools like Azure DevOps, Visual Studio and Confluence is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Ability to effectively monitor operations and manage people with excellent communication skills.
