G+D is developing solutions for Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC). An important feature of our offering is the ability to use CBDC in offline scenarios. A major challenge in offline payments is developing a secure protocol that is efficient in terms of data storage and data transfer requirements. In this internship, you will help us to evaluate different protocol designs, by writing simulations of real-world offline payment scenarios. The purpose of this simulation is to understand the data growth based in different real-life scenarios, when modeled by different protocol designs. Your task is to work on our transaction simulator for the different offline payment scenarios, identify the worst-case scenarios and help in defining the potential best protocol designs which offer the most predictability in terms of data growth in the context of these offline payments. 


What we expect you to do:

  • Define and generate several real-life simulation scenarios
  • Implement our different protocol proposals in python
  • Identify and validate protocol optimizations that lead to more efficient payment transactions
  • Work together with the hardware and software teams to test in practice


What kind of skills are we looking for:

  • You are a student in computer science, mathematics, or related fields
  • You have either experience in or the willingness to learn and apply python algorithm
  • Experience in statistics and data visualization is a plus
