We are convinced, that central banks will introduce a so-called Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) within the next five years. This will create a whole ecosystem of products and services that fit perfectly with Giesecke+Devrient's product portfolio.

 

For this, we have set-up a team as an independent start-up within G+D advance52 GmbH that has a clear mission for growth and to create a substantial product business.

 

For the development of CBDC products and solutions together with central banks, we are looking for a Data Engineer (m/f/d) that would join us on our journey of shaping the payment landscape of the future.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Take ownership of the design and development of technical components that are part of the larger data landscape.
  2. Implement reliable data pipelines by combining cutting-edge concepts and technologies at scale.
  3. Perform thorough and sound technical scouting through prototyping and analysis of tooling.
  4. Along with our data solution architect, strategize on the direction of product development and supplement the product discovery process with your solid technical know-how.

 

Desired experience:

  1. Substantial hands-on technical experience with large-scale data systems
  2. Ability/affinity to work in highly challenging environments with many yet to be solved problems
  3. Experience with relevant technologies in some of the below areas: (example technologies are purely indicative and not concrete requirements)
    1. Large-scale data processing (stream and batch). Example: Apache Spark
    2. Modern storage solutions for data analytics applications, and design strategies. Example: traditional relational database solutions such as PostgreSQL, databases designed for special purposes such as Apache Druid
    3. Data ingestion applications. Example: Apache Kafka
