IP Attorney (m/f/d)
For our department IP Operations we are looking for an IP Attorney (m/f/d) as soon as possible:
Your Responsibilities:

Be part of IP portfolio teams: Collaborate with the IP Portfolio Managers, IP Catalysts, product management, R&D stakeholders, and other team members, to drive the execution of our IP strategy and the success of the team

Convert ideas into control points: Drive the work from assessment of ideas and concepts to invention disclosures, through filing, prosecution, and grant of property rights all the way to IP portfolios that can be used to reach our wanted control points

Ensure legal quality of portfolio: Through own work and in collaboration with our external agents, ensure we achieve high-quality and assertable IP rights

Analyze 3rd party positions: Drive preparation and issuing of assessments of IP strategic risks, e.g., freedom to operate opinions, opposition/invalidation assessments and recommendations

Support use of portfolio: Advice on and support IP portfolio managers and IP transactions managers in infringement opinions, in- and out-licensing, sale and acquisition of IP

Advice and educate: Advising our research and development departments on protection tactics and drive IP education for relevant staff

Way-of-working: Support the continuous improvement of processes, approach, frameworks, and tools for patent attorney work
Your Profile:
-
Expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications: As a graduate of a university degree in one of the fields of physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or computer science, you have already gained relevant professional experience in the patent department of an industrial company or a patent law firm.

Expert knowledge of patent law: Ideally, you have passed the German patent attorney examination or are a certified European Patent Attorney

Business acumen: Preferably have working knowledge of portfolio relevant business models, technology, market, and IP landscape

An interest and ability to understand state-of-the-art technology

Expertise in IP strategic risk assessments

Effective communication: Ability to widely communicate with people ranging from business managers to inventors and IP professionals

Strong analytical skills as well as being structured and well organized

Service-minded with strong customer focus

Fluent in English. Proficiency in German is a plus
