Bid Officer
Scope and Purpose:
- Define bid strategy in alignment with Bid Core Team (deal shaping)
- Project Management responsibility for the complete bid process
- Creation of competitive offers for systems and products including their calculation, taking into account technical and commercial aspects based on the relevant internal guidelines and processes
- Coordinate with all necessary interface departments and local entities/HQ in order to develop a custom tailored cost-optimized solution
- Commercial and administrative tasks within the sales process, especially with offer and risk reviews, approval process, approval by public authority, debriefings + lessons learned
Key Tasks:
- View, analysis and qualification of complex tenders or offer requests
- Coordinate Core Bid Team
- Manage the technical, commercial and legal aspects of tenders/offers
- Preparation of a bid structure and responsibility for calculation of competitive offers in accordance with customer requirements, taking into account internal guidelines and processes
- Prepare bid-no bid decision for board members
- Manage all commercial and legal aspects and involve the necessary internal and external experts in the bid process (e.g. tax, controlling, legal, compliance, technical sales, HUBs etc..)
- Support of Application of financing instruments, e.g. guarantees, bid-bonds, HERMES, Letter of Credit
- Coordinate with Contract Manager and Legal for contracts drafts and finalisation
- Coordination of overall early risk assessment -> responsibility for risk assessment tool
- Initiate and moderate bid team meetings (e.g. kick-off, debriefing)
- Coordinate, prepare, support and participate in customer negotiations
- Ensure complete Handover of won projects to execution team
- Analysis and optimization of bid management processes and tools
Job Requirements:
- International Business Administration and capable to work under time pressure
- Project Management skills
- Insurance skills and experience
- Profound commercial understanding (incl. financial KPI’s and financial instruments)
- Structured way of working
- Analytical skills for reporting/ risk assessment
- Ability to motivate and guide people
- Strong communication skills and customer-oriented behavior
- Strong negotiation skills
- Presentation skills
- Good knowledge of products/services and sales activities.
- Ability to understand complex tenders/contracts
- Excellent team player with good soft skills for use in cross functional and international teams
- English fluent + any other language welcome
