Trainee - Software Application Specialist for Reports

Scope and Purpose:

  • Responsibility for the design, development and testing of reports for our software suite. An extremely exciting task, an international customer base and a dynamic and highly motivated team awaits you.

Key Result Areas & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to fulfill to fulfill the customer’s business needs in terms of highly customized reports.

  • You start elaborating on stakeholder requirements and provide under consideration of the overall product architecture of our software landscape a suitable solution

  • Design, implement and test assigned reports and integrate with components developed by other team members

  • Assist the sales & project team with effort estimates for new reports and/or enhancements to existing reports

  • Actively resolve problems arising during various phases of the development

  • Create proof of concepts (PoCs) to validate design assumptions 

  • Contribute to software Development process improvement activities

  • Present, argue and adapt solution designs with the internal / external stakeholders in customer workshops.

  • Regularly report the level of progress to management in a structured manner

  • Create technical documentation for project management, customers, suppliers

  • Carry out customer trainings in person or virtually

Job Requirements:

  • Technical university degree or comparable training (Computer science)

  • Several years of experience in developing reports using SAP Business Intelligence (BI) for Analytics (SAP BO)

  • Several years of experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL) technologies and familiar in profound in DB queries, DB views and scripting.

  • Strong in object oriented analysis, design and development skills

  • Good troubleshooting and debugging skills with distributed multi-tier applications

  • Certification in Web Intelligence in Business Intelligence (BI) for Analytics is preferred.

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for delivering high quality software 

  • Experience in SAP BO Administration 

  • Experience with Report Development Tools: 

    • SAP Business Objects (required)

    • BIRT (nice to have)

    • Version control (TFS DevOps)

  • Experience with industry standard version control and defect management tools. You feel comfortable as a team player in independent collaboration with international and virtual global teams

  • Very high analytical skills, structured and solution-oriented approach and know how to take a team along with you and convince them with your coherent argumentation.

  • Co-ordinate well with a team, yet work independently towards a common goal

  • Willing to learn and grow within the organization

  • Willingness to travel internationally ideally rounds off your profile
