Assistant Material Planner
Summary
The Assistant Material Planner will be involved in all aspects of the materials planning as it relates to serviced products. Reviews MRP/SAP and spreadsheets (data extracted from SAP) to determine whether parts are in inventory or need to be ordered. Determine, research and correct material inventory discrepancy causes. Review and adjust MRP planning parameters such as safety stock, minimum lot sizes, Min/max, reorder points, replenishment quantities, rounding values, pallet quantities, lead times, lot sizing procedures, etc. Coordinates efforts with internal and external customer expectations. Issues purchase requisitions ensuring proper delivery dates and quantities. Analyze changing material demand patterns. Interfaces with engineering, materials procurement, customer service and the field sites to accomplish service schedule and on time customer delivery. Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages. May assist or direct other Logistic Representatives with stocking and shipping/receiving functions, as required.

- Analyze materials requirements.
- Provide material/plans to vendors/buyers to acquire raw materials
- Perform physical inventories and adjust materials plan.
- Maintain and monitor inventory control systems to track purchase orders, inventory, requirements and locations.
- Monitor engineering changes (changes in parts, used/scraps)
- Interact with multiple disciplines throughout the organization, including sales, marketing, field, manufacturing, engineering and supervision.
- Participate in the development of warehouse strategies.
- Perform statistical analysis to maximize purchasing opportunities.
- Support warehouse activities to ensure inventory moves through order fulfillment efficiently.
- Assist with stock retrieval and order picking operations.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to communicate with different employee levels in the organization.
- Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Effective analytical ability with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with computer technology applications that support the materials planning and procurement process.
- Thorough knowledge of facilities supply chain.
- Ability to manage automated and manual records in accord with all applicable laws and regulations as well as company standard operating procedures.
- High level of proficiency with spreadsheet technology
Required Education and Experience
- Associate of science in Business is preferred or technical discipline or 2-3 years of production/material control experience or combination of both.
