Summary

Provide engineering support to pursue the sale and development of currency processing and other cash center products.  Provide engineering support for existing BPS System products including product enhancements and problem resolution.   Provide Engineering support for Operations/Logistics, Sales/Finance, and Service organizations.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • SAP PLM – Product life cycle management, particularly in the context of SAP PLM, including product and project BOMs, version and revision control and change management.

  • SAP PLM – New material creation, definition, documentation and maintenance. Must conform to current company standards and criteria enforced by SAP PLM constraints and guidelines.

  • Sustaining Engineering – provide ongoing hardware support for install base of complex systems with respect to commercial components that are obsoleted by manufacturers. Design, document, and facilitate procurement and distribution of alternative solutions as needed.

  • SAP Sales Support – Coordinate with GDM colleagues to define Sales specific variants of complex high speed banknote processing systems to facilitate Purchase and Sales Order processing through SAP.

  • SAP Operations Support – Coordinate with Operations colleagues to facilitate the development of project specific BOMs and associated documentation in SAP.

  • SAP Logistics Support – Coordinate with Logistics colleagues to support SAP ‘extension’ of Spare Parts and Integration materials into local physical ‘Plants’ and inventory locations. Work within the SAP PLM system to resolve issues with the technical interactions between various views and linkages.

  • Spare Parts Logistical Support – Provide technical review and guidance regarding Spare Parts defined for both G+D designed and third party manufactured products, within the scope of our Service and Support portfolio. Ensure that new or new revision spare parts for third party supplied products are established and maintained in the SAP system.

  • Spare Parts Documentation Support – Coordinate with Documentation colleagues to ensure that changes in spare parts due to obsolescence or new product revisions are adequately documented and reflected in the Spare Parts catalog.

  • Field Service and L3 Technical Support – Provide Level 3 technical support to Field Service and Technical Support Specialists, including part number and technical documentation research, component specifications and guidance in troubleshooting complex problems.

  • Depot Repair Support – Provide material, specification, and documentation support for Depot Repair activities. Assist as needed with repair and maintenance of fixtures and test stations.

  • CRM Support – Coordinate with CRM administration colleagues to ensure consistency between CRM and PLM modules, particularly with respect to spare parts availability and visibility

  • CPM Support – Consult as needed with CPM colleagues to ensure viability of planned customer projects, augmentations or upgrades. Assist with new, or novel implementations of cross-platform products like the CSI/Dashboard or EcoProtect.

  • QA Support – Provide technical and documentation support and materials research to assist QA determination of suitability of received goods for our uses.

  • Assist in the development of department standards and procedures for the handling of engineering documents, numbering systems, procurement specifications and quality assurance. 

  • Provide support for field operation by evaluating product improvements and failure analysis to improve product reliability and maintainability.

Travel required

  • The work will require overnight travel, both within the United States and globally.  The percentage of travel time expected for the position may be as high as 20% within a given year but will normally be 10% or below and normally broken into 2 to 3 week intervals.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.  Alternatively, minimum of 5 years experience with G+D systems and work experience with SAP. 
  • experience in product development and/or engineering support. 
  • experience managing projects a plus.
