Global License Manager
Tasks & Responsibility
- Responsibility for license balance incl counter measures
- Regular license reporting for on prem, Cloud and SaaS applications
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Analysis, design, implementation of license strategies
- Advising Business units/subsidiaries and IT on the introduction of new software products and technologies with regard to licensing issues
- Further developing of license management and optimizing the software license models
- Further development and operations of a software asset management system
- Advice and support on license-relevant content during contract negotiations
- Monitoring and control of software and maintenance contracts
- Proven experience in tracking software licenses, managing software audits, and compliance reporting.
Education & Training
- Bachelor's degree in fields like Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- (nice to have) Certification in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), or equivalent is beneficial
Technical Knowhow
- Familiarity with software licensing models (e.g., perpetual, subscription, concurrent).
- Proficiency with license management and asset management tools (e.g.ServiceNow, Snow License Manager).
- Understanding of software lifecycle management and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical abilities to monitor and analyze license usage patterns, ensuring optimized license allocation and avoiding over-licensing.
- Familiarity with software licensing models (e.g., perpetual, subscription, concurrent).
- Proficiency with license management and asset management tools (e.g.ServiceNow, Snow License Manager).
- Understanding of software lifecycle management and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical abilities to monitor and analyze license usage patterns, ensuring optimized license allocation and avoiding over-licensing.
- Familiarity with licensing agreements, terms, and conditions from major vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, etc.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with procurement, IT, finance, and legal teams to ensure compliance and cost-efficiency. – good communication skills
