JOB TITLE - Manager System Engineering

 

Objective Of This Role:


We are looking for an experienced System Engineering Manager with a strong background in systems engineering, system design and modeling. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mechatronic and /or  software systems and a solid understanding of engineering principles. This role involves leading system engineers, managing system architecture and fostering collaboration in a dynamic engineering environment. Key responsibilities include creating technical roadmaps, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks and optimizing system performance while assessing product viability throughout its lifecycle from Concept to End of Life.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:    

  •  Define and design scalable  system architecture solutions tailored to meet customer requirements, ensuring seamless coordination across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Control the life cycle of our products and ensure that they can be manufactured and sold. In doing so, working together with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Work in an agile interdisciplinary program team that develops customer-oriented product solutions using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). You will work closely with the product manager, the program manager, the supply chain and the areas of expertise of our R&D.
  • Lead the systems engineering team to align with project goals, fostering collaboration across software, hardware, adaptation and mechanical disciplines.
  • Develop and implement robust systems engineering processes, leveraging best practices and effective change management frameworks to streamline operations and ensure compliance. 
  • Mentor engineers at all levels, cultivating a culture of systems thinking and continuous improvement, while enhancing team morale and professional growth within a dynamic engineering environment.
  • Successfully coordinate the integration of mechanical, electrical and software engineering into unified system designs, leveraging well-defined system release strategies to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Oversee system performance evaluations and integration testing, delivering insights that inform critical decision-making and contribute to optimized system functionality.
  • Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in addressing complex system-level challenges, consistently achieving resolutions that enhance system robustness and client confidence.
  • Manage the change control process to ensure that all system modifications are thoroughly documented and seamlessly implemented, maintaining alignment with quality standards and project timelines.

 

Education & Trainings:  Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering , Electronics, Computer Science or Biomedical engineering  or a related field in Engineering. 

 

Technical knowhow:  Mandatory

 

  • Experience: Minimum of 14-16 years in the design and development of complex systems, with a focus on mechatronic systems.
  • Solid understanding of requirement engineering and requirement management.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles and their integration in system design.
  • Skilled in utilizing key industry tools such as IBM DOORS, JIRA, MATLAB Simulink, Azure DevOps, Vector CANalyzer , iQUAVIS or other MBSE tools to streamline systems engineering, requirements management, traceability and project delivery.
  •  Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN or Ethernet for mechatronic systems.
  • Solid understanding of control systems, sensors, and actuators, with experience in their application.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, enabling clear and effective collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience working in agile development environments is a strong plus.

 

Good to know

 

  • Programming languages like C, C++, and Python for system modeling and development
  • Experience with diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of embedded systems development, including QNX Momentics IDE or other real-time operating systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in industries like automotive or aerospace.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices.
