Senior Commercial Project Manager (m/f/d)

For our department Finance we are looking for a Senior Commercial Project Manager (m/f/d) in our location in Munich or in Barcelona as soon as possible. This position serves as the trusted commercial advisor to the senior management (Managing Director, Project Director) and is accountable for maximizing project value and commercial success throughout the project lifecycle. Acting as the commercial counterpart to the Technical Project Manager, the role ensures that strategic decisions, customer engagements and delivery activities are aligned with the project's financial and contractual objectives.
Your Requirements:
- Support Project Director in achieving project profitability targets and drive commercial actions impacting revenue, margin and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle
- Partner with the Project Director, Finance and Controlling to identify variances, recommend actions and improve overall project profitability
- Lead the commercial execution of customer contracts, subcontracts, change orders and claims in close collaboration with Contract Mangement, Procurement and Partner Management
- Manage commercial risks and opportunities, contractual obligations, invoicing and payment follow-up
- Prepare decision-ready commercial reviews, scenarios and management reports for senior stakeholders
- Lead commercial negotiations and act as the key commercial interface for customers and internal stakeholders
- Strengthen commercial standards, project controls and lessons learned across all project delivery workstreams
Your Profile:
- Typically 7+ years of experience in commercial project management, project finance, contract management or a related role
- A strong track record in complex software, SaaS, cloud or digital transformation projects
- Hands-on experience in interpreting forecasts, financial project planning, contract and claim management, and commercial risk management
- Understanding of software delivery models and commercial topics such as subscriptions, licences, service levels or third-party services
- Confident communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and customer executives in an international environment
- ERP and project accounting experience is an advantage; commercial, contract or project management certification is a plus
