Job Summary:
The EMV Set-Up Operator/Lead is a skilled technical role requiring comprehensive knowledge of production equipment and processes within the assigned work area. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and making minor mechanical adjustments to a variety of machines. The EMV Set-Up Operator/Lead also plays a key role in training team members on safe, efficient machine operation, including setup and basic troubleshooting. Additionally, this role is responsible for creating and maintaining CNC and vision system files used for dosing, cavity milling, and in-line quality inspection during production.
The EMV Set-Up Operator/Lead will assist the Manager, Supervisor and Shift Lead as needed with setting up the production run and will be qualified to move between machines and processes as needed to operate efficiently on their assigned shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate machine setups and minor mechanical adjustments in line with job specifications to maintain production quality.
- Create and modify CNC and vision system files for product processing and inline quality inspections.
- Monitor machines during production, ensure optimal performance, perform safety checks, and complete regular maintenance procedures.
- Identify and resolve machine and process issues in real time; escalate as needed to Shift Leads.
- Provide on-the-job training to new hires and temporary staff; guide operators on safe and effective equipment use.
- Conduct audits and in-process checks to maintain output quality and compliance with company and customer standards.
- Ensure necessary consumables and raw materials are stocked and available to support uninterrupted production.
- Maintain accurate logs, setup records, and production reports. Ensure calibration and vision file data is current and accurate.
- Support various machines and departments as needed; serve as a reliable backup operator when required.
- Follow all safety procedures and security protocols, including those mandated by MasterCard and Visa.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or certification preferred.
- 3–5 years in a similar manufacturing or machine operation role. Experience with CNC machines and/or vision systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical machinery.
- Ability to create and adjust CNC/vision system files (knowledge of pixel calibration, lighting, masking, filters).
- Familiarity with quality processes, preventive maintenance, and production documentation.
- Basic computer literacy required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communicator, capable of training and mentoring others
- Safety-focused and team-oriented.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Able to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
- Ability to focus visually on small, detailed work for extended durations.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour and is eligible for an annual bonus.
