Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible for end-to-end planning across demand, supply, production, and inventory to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and optimal cost management. The Planner works closely with sales, production, procurement, and logistics teams to develop forecasts, align supply with demand, manage inventories, and optimize the overall supply chain performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain demand and supply plans by analyzing historical data, sales forecasts, and market trends.
- Plan production schedules in coordination with operations and procurement to meet customer delivery requirements and optimize resource utilization.
- Manage material availability through MRP systems to support production and customer demand.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels (raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods) across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Sales, and Logistics to align planning activities and respond to changes in demand or supply conditions.
- Proactively identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Contribute to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Monitor supplier performance and capacity planning to support production needs.
- Create and analyze KPIs related to service levels, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and production schedule adherence.
- Continuously improve planning processes, tools, and data accuracy through system enhancements (SAP/IBP or equivalent systems).
- Support new product introductions by planning supply and production timelines.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong expertise in SAP, MRP, and forecasting tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable plans.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, and customer delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business is preferred.
- 3+ years of SAP experience and MRP usage for material purchasing within past 5 years.
- 3+ years of experience with forecasting and/or demand planning.
- Prior experience with IBP is a plus.
- Familiar with purchase requisitions (PRs) and stock transfer orders (STOs).
- Understanding of material forecasts and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Excel is required (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas).
- Ability to analyze inventory trends and take actions to improve levels to targets.
- Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage multiple objectives and priorities concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 and is eligible for an annual bonus.
