JOB SUMMARY

 

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for receiving, storing, packing, and shipping material, as well as the safety, efficiency and profitability of all warehouse operations. Also responsible for movement of material to departments in order to stage for jobs.  This is a floor position, and will involve physical movement of product and operation of equipment along with supervisory duties.

 

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Supervise receiving, storing, packing, shipping and warehouse inventory control in accordance with warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for movement of material for job staging and department use.
  • Provide planning, direction, scheduling, and assignment of jobs for a team of employees.
  • Manage performance through coaching, mentoring and motivation of warehouse staff.
  • Train new and existing warehouse staff members.
  • Work with management to plan and implement ideas on how to increase warehouse efficiency; take a proactive approach in recommending process improvement ideas.
  • Maintain operational reliability of warehouse equipment, and safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area. 
  • Maintain organization and structure within the work area in the warehouse.
  • Analyze and resolve complex warehouse operational and inventory issues.
  • Perform related job duties as needed and assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in warehouse, distribution or operations required.
  • Must have experience operating a forklift and other similar warehouse equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong initiative to take the lead on projects and drive process improvement.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written material, and articulate goals and action plans.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and be highly organized.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.  Must be available for on-call availability for issues that arise on 2nd or 3rd shift, or to cover for other staff members.

 

 PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Associate’s degree

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

  • Requires the ability to lift 10 pounds regularly with occasional lifting to upwards of 50 pounds.
