ABOUT US
Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is growing its secure manufacturing operations in Australia and seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineering Manager for our Knoxfield facility. In this hands-on leadership role, you will build and lead an in-house maintenance capability, drive equipment reliability, and support production to meet key customer requirements. You will play a vital role in the installation, commissioning, and ongoing performance of new production equipment, including high-volume personalisation systems.
Your responsibilities
- Build and mentor an in-house team of technicians, including recruiting, training, and supporting staff growth while creating a culture of safety and reliability
- Oversee installation and start-up of new production equipment, manage Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT), and ensure all equipment is ready for seamless production
- Take ownership of equipment uptime and reliability, lead problem-solving and continuous improvement projects, and create smart spare parts and maintenance plans
- Build strong relationships with equipment suppliers, negotiate service contracts and support agreements, and coordinate external technical support when needed
- Work closely with production teams to meet customer commitments, lead troubleshooting and resolve technical issues quickly, and ensure equipment consistently meets service level agreements (SLAs)
About you
- Proven leadership and minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance or engineering within a manufacturing environment, including managing maintenance technicians or engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to install and commission production equipment, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Have exposure to automated manufacturing or industrial production systems.
- Strong communications (both written and verbal)
- Outcome oriented, focus on target achievement
- Strong emphasis on attention to detail
- An engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics is highly regarded.
