ABOUT THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities
- Design & Build: Architect, develop, and enhance internal software products and tools to support payment card personalisation.
- Validate & Test: Configure EMV profiles, use chip test tools, and ensure payment card validation.
- Champion Best Practice: Lead the full software development lifecycle—design, development, testing, documentation, and handover
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and implement new tools, processes, and technologies.
- Collaborate: Work cross-functionally with product, systems, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, secure solutions and testing and validation of other team members work.
- Mentor: Guide and support team members, ensuring timely delivery and service excellence.
- Drive Transparency: Contribute to reporting and backlog management, supporting a culture of accountability.
- Testing & Integrity: Champion robust unit testing and automated frameworks to ensure the reliability of high-stakes financial data.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain clear technical documentation to enhance internal tools and support team scalability.
ABOUT YOU
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in production support, system configuration, and data handling.
- Strong knowledge of data encryption, security protocols, and quality assurance.
- Demonstrated proficiency with software development tools such as C#, .NET, and SQL Server, as well as Agile methodologies. Possesses a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and expertise in C# design patterns, including Factory, Singleton, and Observer.
- Proven experience in SQL optimisation, relational schema management, and developing/consuming RESTful APIs (JSON/XML).
- Proficiency in Git and Azure DevOps, including branching strategies and automated workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant degree or certifications in IT, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar or the same role.
