The Production Data Specialist will partner with internal stakeholders to ensure successful life-cycle management of globally-shared master data elements across multiple integrated systems, including SAP ERP and proprietary solutions. Areas of responsibility include initial requirements assessment, defining data characteristics and creation, comprehensive data quality analysis, data modification and revisioning change control, and reporting. S/he will provide operational support as subject matter expert related to production data used within card manufacturing and personalization systems. 


The Production Data Specialist coordinates, implements, and validates data management activities according to company rules. As a technology subject matter expert (SME), this position supports multiple functional areas involving cross-system data integration points. Supports design review process, prepares data content, assesses independent demand entries within SAP, and implements newly approved component setups, including manufacturing BOMs, routings and associated SAP ERP data, along with synchronizing correlated data used in proprietary systems. Collaborates easily and proactively responds to stakeholder requests. Conducts data analysis, produces monthly reports, and provides input for KPIs using BI/DW tools.

  • Individual contributor; accountable for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of master data elements in accordance with corporate standards and best practices.

  • Uses critical thinking, data visualization skills, and consultative expertise to guide creation and maintenance of cross-system master data content, processes, and reporting.

  • Responsible to maintain comprehensive change actions consistently across various system environments.

  • Facilitates stakeholder meetings to define required data elements and SAP characteristics, prepare documents and configuration details, implement and verify material-related setups, and provide end-user support.

  • Evaluates, collects, and correlates relevant data content to support reporting needs; highly adept at extracting and translating pertinent data into a form that can be readily understood by business users.

  • Knowledge, experience, and ability to independently accomplish tasks and overcome perceived constraints.

  • Provides consultative expertise regarding cross-system data management content, processes, and reporting.

  • Demonstrates consistent ability to balance a sense of urgency against measured thinking and attention to detail.

  • Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times with good communication skills in English, team player. 

  • Self-starter who exhibits reliable judgment in dealing with business, personnel, or security-related information.

  • Adheres to company policies, follows department procedures, and respects information security governance. 

  • Willingness to occasionally work beyond regular office hours when needed; limited travel may be required.

  • Displays excellent work habits, including collaborative attitude, punctual attendance, and appropriate dress.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move safely around the facilities.

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Ability to conceptualize and analyze issues, with proven planning, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. 
  • Proficiently creates effective and efficient database queries and scripts involving use of MS-SQL and SAP tools.
  • Displays expertise performing data extracts and manipulation, including use of MS-Excel spreadsheet functions.
  • Robust technical aptitude, including strong logical skillset and understanding of basic programming concepts.
  • Capable of learning technical applications using self-study of detailed documentation and applying concepts. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system processing environments, and provide support to resolve data, application and system issues, including implementing corrective actions. 
  • Capable of balancing priorities to complete tasks and assignments in highly detailed and accurate manner.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for actions, as well as interact with cross-functional teams and in a matrix environment. 


Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or technical discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience; or an Associate Degree with 3+ years of experience working in similar data or systems analyst role is required.
  • Expertise navigating SAP ERP system modules, with solid understanding of master data characteristics and business data warehouse reporting concepts is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year technical experience with ERP data creation, handling, translation, modeling, and reporting.
  • High level of computer competency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio).
  • Expertise with writing SQL Server scripts and stored procedures, and familiarity with using XML, C#, .Net, Java, Python, and Web services programming concepts.  
  • Experienced and capable of influencing others through effective verbal and written communications, including preparing and making presentations at all organizational levels.
