Operational Quality Manager (m/f/d)
Veridos Matsoukis is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operational Quality Manager to lead all operational quality activities at our Athens manufacturing site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a multidisciplinary quality team, including Quality Controllers and Quality Engineers,, while ensuring the highest standards of product quality, regulatory compliance, process control, and continuous improvement.
This is a key leadership role within the organization, driving quality excellence across manufacturing operations and supporting our commitment to delivering secure and high-quality products to our customers worldwide.
Reporting to the Head of Quality, Sustainability & R&D, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Your Tasks and Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the site's operational quality function and act as the quality authority for product release, quality deviations, containment actions, and escalation of significant quality risks
- Directly supervise, coach and help the team members to grow their technical and professional competencies
- Promote quality awareness across manufacturing operations and support the development and delivery of quality-related training.
- Design, review and implement quality control and assurance strategies, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment
- Monitor and improve product quality performance, customer satisfaction, and quality KPIs (CoPQ, scrap rates, complaints, deviations, material failure, CAPA effectiveness)
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues and ensure effective implementation of actions and impact on business
- Analyze process variability and defect trends, identify quality risks to support effective decision-making
- Assess and approve manufacturing changes that impact product quality.
- Lead investigations related to non-conformities, deviations, and customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Enhance customer confidence through strong quality performance and professional customer engagement.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to achieve quality and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement using Six Sigma and Quality methodologies.
- Manage the laboratory testing activities, ensure the integrity and reliability of test results and continuously enhance the lab capabilities in line with the latest industry practices and technological developments.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve quality procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Oversee material qualification and process validation activities, ensuring that raw materials, manufacturing processes, and process changes are adequately assessed, validated, monitored, and controlled to meet quality and customer requirements
- Develop digital quality tools, statistical analysis, and automated reporting to improve quality visibility and decision-making
- Provide regular quality performance reports to site and management leadership.
- Support customer visits and certification audits if needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chemistry, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree is considered an advantage
- Minimum 8 years of experience leading quality teams in demanding manufacturing environments
- Experience in printing, high-security products, pharmaceutical, electronics, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries is considered an advantage
- Strong ability to understand complex manufacturing processes, technical specifications, product requirements, and quality risks
- Strong knowledge of Quality Tools such as FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Understanding of ISO audits requirements (internal, customer, or certification audits)
- Proficiency in quality data analysis and reporting tools; experience with statistical software, ERP systems, Power BI, or similar platforms would be considered an advantage
- Data-driven decision maker with strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholders’ management and engagement capabilities, at all levels and Cross-functional, to achieve common business objectives
- Fluency in English and Greek, both written and spoken.
- Office-based across company facilities in Athens
- Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or partners will be required
