Operational Quality Manager (m/f/d)
Veridos Matsoukis is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operational Quality Manager to lead all operational quality activities at our Athens manufacturing site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a multidisciplinary quality team, including Quality Controllers and Quality Engineers,, while ensuring the highest standards of product quality, regulatory compliance, process control, and continuous improvement.
This is a key leadership role within the organization, driving quality excellence across manufacturing operations and supporting our commitment to delivering secure and high-quality products to our customers worldwide.
Reporting to the Head of Quality, Sustainability & R&D, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Your Tasks & Key Responsibilities
- Lead the site's Quality function and act as the quality authority for product release, deviations, risk management, and quality escalation.
- Manage, coach, and develop the Quality team while promoting a strong quality culture across operations.
- Define and implement Quality Assurance & Control strategies, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality performance through KPIs, drive CAPA, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Lead investigations related to non-conformities, customer complaints, and manufacturing quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma and quality methodologies.
- Oversee laboratory activities, material qualification, process validation, and quality documentation.
- Develop digital quality tools, reporting systems, and data-driven solutions to improve decision-making.
- Provide quality performance updates to site leadership and support customer visits and audits.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chemistry, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of experience leading Quality teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., printing, high-security products, pharmaceutical, electronics, automotive) is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Quality tools: FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement.
- Understanding of ISO standards and audit requirements.
- Experience with quality data analysis tools, ERP systems, Power BI, or statistical software is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English and Greek (written and spoken).
- Based in Athens with occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or partners.
