Strategic Category Manager (m/f/d)

Veridos Matsoukis S.A., a leading Security Printing Company and proud member of the VERIDOS and G+D Group, is looking for a dynamic Strategic Category Manager to join our team.

This role is responsible for ensuring the execution and continuous optimization of purchasing processes in project procurement. The role contributes significantly to cost efficiency, supplier performance, and the long-term competitiveness of the company by aligning category strategies with overall corporate and project objectives.

It offers the opportunity to work in an international and technologically advanced environment, contributing directly to the integrity and reliability of secure identity products used around the world.

Reporting to the Global Director Procurement, your Key Responsibilities tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Processing of purchasing processes in project procurement with focus on production machinery and equipment, related technical consumables and services as well as subcontracting
• Deputy for category Semiconductors / Inlays
• Negotiation of purchase and service contracts, including legal and commercial aspects, based on project requirements and category strategies
• Development and continuous improvement of purchasing and category strategies, including market analysis and supplier evaluation
• Establishment and maintenance of sustainable, long-term, and high-performing supplier relationships
• Initiation and independent implementation of cost reduction and cost avoidance measures in collaboration with internal customers
• Active participation in project procurement (matrix procurement), including preparation of commercial and technical bid evaluations and award recommendations
• Preparation, analysis, and reporting of relevant procurement KPIs, usage of our supplier management portal
• Monitoring of supplier performance and implementation of corrective actions in case of deviations, including the handling of recourse claims

Your Qualifications:

• Completed university degree (e.g. Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or comparable).
• Proven years of professional experience in international project purchasing within the relevant category or industry.
• Strong affinity for technology / technically skilled
• High level of expertise and passion in purchasing processes, methods, and tools
• Solid knowledge of contract management as well as procurement-related legal topics 
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skill
• Very good command of MS Office applications
• In-depth knowledge of SAP MM
• Proactive, pragmatic and structured working style as well as distinctive team, orientation, commitment and high degree of self-motivation
• Intercultural sensitivity
• Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. German language skills is a plus
