Our innovation department explores new identity technologies, validates concepts through market research, and develops and tests prototypes on the path to first viable products. We focus on biometrics, artificial intelligence and digital identities, and actively contribute to EU research projects together with universities, research institutes and border authorities.
Your Responsibilities:
- You will design, develop and test software for innovative identity verification solutions, with a strong focus on robust, maintainable, and high quality code. Translate research concepts into functional proof‑of‑concept systems and integrated demonstrators
- You explore concepts around capturing, storing and processing biometric data and around evaluating biometric systems, and integrate results into the prototypes, considering the complete identity eco system
- You contribute maker‑skills such as basic mechanical design, electronics, 3D printing or VR/AR integration to the prototype developments in our lab
- You will contribute substantially to technical strategy, research roadmaps and EU‑funded project deliverables, ensuring high‑quality documentation
- You communicate concepts and results clearly to internal and external stakeholders
Your Qualifications:
- You have solid experience in software development using C++, C# and/or Python on both, Windows and Linux. Ideally you also have some background in mobile development for Android and iOS
- Additional experience with image processing or machine learning frameworks (e.g. OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch) is an advantage
- You are enthusiastic about biometric technologies, creative, open to unconventional ideas and enjoy working independently in a multicultural, interdisciplinary environment
- You enjoy building hardware and software prototypes in our Makers Lab
- You hold a university degree in computer science, physics, mathematics or a related field
- Your English skills (written and spoken) are business fluent. You are comfortable presenting complex technical topics to technical and non‑technical audiences in an international setting
