Project Manager (12 Month Contract)

 

Job Summary

 

Provide overall management for client projects, strategic intiatives and changes from initiation to closure.  Ensure the business needs and outcomes of the project are defined, satisfied and costs identified.  Adherence to project management methodology and delivery of the scope within the required time and budget, ensuring the quality standards are met.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Take over in-flight complex implementation project to ensure the work meets key business objectives and is completed on time within budget
  • Develop, manage and report on an integrated work plan which consists of activities for multiple parties (different organizations)
  • Manage activities for the project team to track and report on daily activities
  • Manage project scope in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Actively manage project risks and issues, identify/initiate corrective action where required; conduct monthly risk assessments and report on risks and issues
  • Maintain progress measures and deliver status reporting 
  • Ensure maximum efficiency in allocation of skills and resources within the project; maintain resource plans and forecasts for the project
  • Work collaboratively with the extended project team and key stakeholders 
  • Liaise and ensure adequate communication with project sponsors, business, stakeholders and the project tea

    • Project Charter
    • Project Status reports
    • Estimates
    • Project Plan
    • Resource Plan
    • Risk/Issue/Decision Logs
    • Executive Presentations


Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years project managment experience with proven results. 
  • Experience with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).   
  • Experience Managing Projects with multiple partners


Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in taking over inflight projects that have existing issues that need resolution in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to deliver quality products under tight timelines
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with all levels of management, with particular experience with senior management and executive levels
  • Understanding of technical implementations and ability to work with technical resources
  • Strong team management capabilities

 

Education:

  • A University or college degree in a relevant discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with a Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration. 
  • Project Managment Professional (PMP) certification is a requirement

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Office Setting
  • May require support outside of regular business hours and weekends during project implementation phase
  • Travel required (up to 25%) within North America
