Machine Operator (Afternoon and Night Shift Only)
Available Shifts (please apply if you are avilable for one or both)
Afternoon Shift: Monday-Friday, 4:00pm-12:00am
Night Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 12:00am-8:00am
Primary Responsibilities
- Set-up machine (change over) as per customer requirement
- Ensure Plastics and carriers match
- Follow a specified schedule to retrieve correct orders and following correct procedure to print jobs
- Reponsible for submitting the correct job files to printers according to the job production logs and stats pages
- Ensure schedule is being folowed day to day
- Communicate with second operator on all job details; feeder/catcher
- Basic maintenance on the machine when required
- Feed plastic and carriers in their respective hoppers
- Bring empty bins to the work station along with production racks
- Write out tags for the production bin which include job details
- Report any issues to the Supervisor in a timely manner
- Use the Time Mnaagement System (TMS) as per Company's procedures
Secondary Responsibilities
- Complete all related logs; manual and/or electronic
- Communicate daily with other departments
- Daily production report
- Provides production status/trends as required
- Works on special projects as assigned
- Assist in other production related duties as assigned
- Comply with G+D Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements
Work Experience:
- Minimum one years experience in Machine Operation is an asset
- Experience with SAP is an asset
- Experience with datatrak system is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Mathematical ability required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast pace and demanding environment

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently or as a team member
- Attention to detail and hand eye co-ordination
Education:
- High School Diploma; post secondary education is preferred
Working Conditions
- Overtime may be required
- Fast paced manufacturing environment
- Safety shoes and smock required on the production floor
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Able to climb ladders
- Able to stand or sit for long periods of time
