Are you a full-spectrum senior datacenter Systems Engineer with Oracle DB administration knowledge? Or a senior Oracle DBA interested in expanding your knowledge in all adjacent and underlying datacenter technologies?

While we expect your primary role to be focused on Oracle Database installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting, you'll join our IT Infrastructure team within the Service Delivery Operations vertical. That means day to day responsibilities will include participating in:

  • Ensuring infrastructure services operation and availability across different datacenters.
  • Keeping the platform running by supporting housing infrastructure (racks, cabling, PDUs, etc.), server hardware, storage area network, datacenter communications, virtualization, operating systems and, with a special focus, Oracle databases.
  • Keeping our environments and processes compliant (with internal and external requirements) and secure by adhering to existing guidelines on configuration and ways of working, carrying on with the recurrent OS/firmware updates/upgrades, keeping an eye on our monitoring systems... Well, all the usual suspects.
  • Interacting with software developers, application deployment/support engineers, security specialists, solutions/infrastructure architects and IT Infrastructure Operations colleagues from places all around the world not only for cross-functional learning or support, but also for identifying, proposing and promoting opportunities for improvement.

Back to Oracle DB world, you'll be working with global DBA leadership in maintaining and evolving our database deployments and blueprints associated with our different products running in both local and geo-redundant scopes.

What we expect you will bring:

  • Experience in Oracle 12c+ SE2 / Oracle 19c+ EE installation and configuration for both single and multi-tenant deployments
  • Experience in Oracle RAC cluster deployment and management
  • Oracle GoldenGate replication knowledge
  • General Oracle DB physical and logical level design and setup best practices knowledge (for: availability, performance, compliance, VLDB...)
  • Experience or significant knowledge of Storage Area Networks (FC HBAs, FC switches, FC attached storage arrays...)
  • Experience or significant knowledge of Linux Operating System (preferably RHEL)
  • Knowledge of standard protocols like DNS, HTTP, SSH, NTP, LDAP, NFS, etc.
  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework and associated processes and procedures
  • Willingness to share knowledge and learn from others in a team where providing feedback and support to other team members is the norm
  • Ability to take ownership of incidents and/or projects bringing them forward to resolution independently or in collaboration with your colleagues
  • Some interesting hobby to talk about in breaks or at the Christmas company dinner. You might find out someone shares your interest... we already cover some ground :)

What would make us smile:

  • You are a T-shaped professional and enjoy getting knowledgeable in all aspects of IT technologies apart from your main area of expertise
  • You've got experience or significant knowledge of L2/L3 networking (VLAN, managed switches, firewalls, routing...)
  • You've got knowledge or are even experienced in containerization and container orchestration with kubernetes and adjacent concepts and technologies
  • You are familiar with accreditation schemes like PCI-DSS, Common Criteria, GSMA SAS-SM, etc. And what it takes to be compliant with them.

Skills giving thrills:

  • Are you capable of single-handedly bringing up a N-node RAC cluster from the servers' cardboard boxes to production on time and on budget?
  • You've got knowledge or are even experienced in automation with tools like Foreman/Satellite, Ansible, Terraform...
  • You're aware of the "gitops" concept and use VCS as much as possible
