The Infrastructure Operations Engineer holds a technical position to manage day-to-day IT operations solution and services in our cloud/datacenters - physical or virtual - primarily in regards to industry best practice standards in different areas like operating systems, virtualization, network and security.

Our Infrastructure Operations Engineer is working closely with Design Architects, Service Design Specialists, Application Engineers and Second Level Support Engineers in Service Delivery Operations and will be covering day-to-day tasks (ITIL) as well as being involved in customer delivery projects and internal/strategic projects in a global team.
Areas of Responsibility:


  • Day-to-day operations as part of Incident, Problem, Change Management
  • Asset and configuration management in accordance with ITSM tools & processes (Service Now)
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, backup and monitoring of our infrastructure & services in a geo redundant environment
  • Continuous service improvement with focus on optimization, efficiency and high availability
  • Coding & scripting of automation and scale out solutions 
  • Evaluation and introduction of new technologies, in collaboration with Design Architects and Service Design Specialists.
  • Be part of on-call routines

Qualifications and Skills:


  • University degree in Computer Sciences, IT or related technical/engineering field
  • Relevant experience as Infrastructure Operations Engineer in a cloud or datacenter environment or willed to gain and/or professionalize your skills and knowledge in that area 
  • Excellent Linux skills, preferred RHEL and RH Satellite 
  • Good understanding of complex network and infrastructure setups (geo redundancy)
  • Good understanding of compliance and information security requirements in service operations
  • Good knowledge in Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Nagios/Icinga, Commvault, Splunk (at least two)
  • Good coding & scripting skills 
  • Good knowledge in VMware Products as (vCenter, vSphere, PowerCLI, etc.)
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving and ownership mentality
  • Drive for self-learning and improvement
  • Team player
  • Proficient in German and English both written and verbal



  • Telecommunications and/or Payment industry experience
  • Experience of working across different cultures
  • ITIL v3 foundation certification
  • Oracle database knowledge
  • OpenShift / Kubernetes knowledge
