Machine Operator - Hotstamp

Job Summary:


The Machine Operator will be responsible to operate at least one of the following machines, Automated Card Inspection, Hot Stamp machines. The operator reports daily totals to the Lead Hand and performs daily audit functions on the work in progress.


Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm


Primary Responsibilities:

•    Set up and operate selected machine as required
•    Work Closely with main Operator and Production personnel to define the inspection standards for the machines
•    Make adjustments for proper alignment on machines when required
•    Responsible for meeting all Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) deliverables
•    Inspect the quality of cards being produced by maintaining card tolerance stated on the ISO specifications
•    Maintain and follow all security requirements
•    Able to troubleshoot minor equipment problems when required
•    Check production orders prior to the start of every shift for job requirements
•    Follow quality checks and procedures set by Management and Quality Control Department
•    Record inventory control and material usage per job order and update all logs associated with each machine
•    Follow daily schedule and productivity standards set by Lead Hand is mandatory
•    Train new hires as required
•    Organize, clean workstation and machines after each shift
•    Complete all daily paperwork and audit control sheets daily
•    Other duties as assigned
•    Comply with G&D Environmental, Health & Safety  policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager.  Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures


Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements:


•    A minimum of 2 years experience an asset as a Machine Operator is preferred
•    Ability to interpret and comprehend information from job specification sheets 
•    Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative
•    Must be good with problem solving and ability to multi-task
•    Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•    Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines
•    Ability to apply general common sense and courtesy
•    Strong time Management skills
•    Must be quality conscious and motivated 
•    Customer focus mindset is preferred
•    High school diploma is preferred


Working Conditions:


•    Deal with changing workload and conditions
•    Must be able to work on a rotating shift if required (Days/Afternoons/Nights)
•    Responsible to maintain confidentiality 
•    Overtime and weekend work may be required
•    Safety shoes and smock required on production floor 


Physical Requirements:


•    Ability to stand for long periods of time
•    Ability to lift 10-50 lbs. from the floor, up to waist level, frequently
•    Ability to frequently bend, lift, walk, crouch, sit and kneel
•    Requires keen eyesight and alertness to detail
•    May be required to work long periods of time in front of the computer screen
