Machine Operator
Job Summary
This position is responsible for handling the automatic insertion process for all orders by operating different pieces of insertion equipment that run applications such as; non intelligent, single piece barcode read, multi page matching by barcode and match/merge and insert in line while adhering to all GDCAMS processes and procedures. Operators will be responsible to follow a production schedule at the station and balance each run before starting another, following all department SOP’s and using department systems and tools as are already established.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 3 pm - 11:15 pm
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest quality standards for all processed work
- Meet established department benchmarks within a month
- Comply with all G+D internal policies as they relate to; processing, conduct, safety and security of both product and self
- Maintain the highest integrity standards for all processed work
- Must be focused and show an attention to detail
- Must be focused on customer satisfaction
- Must be able to multi task
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
- Required to do troubleshooting, minor adjustments and setups
- Required to do minor repairs on a daily basis
- Basic computer skills a must
Secondary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the work area
- Maintain and adhere to all ISO related processes
- Comply with G&D Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as required
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements
Work Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years related work experience running inserters
Skills and Competencies:
- Good communication and reading skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good memory and attention to detail
- Work under minimum supervision
Education:
- Completion of High School is preferred

- Standing for long periods of time
- Repetitive routine work

- Read small print on a daily basis
- Fast paced secure environment
- Some overtime may be required
- Safety shoes and smock required on the production floor
Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 40lbs
- Pushing up to 20lbs
