This is a full time role for a fixed duration of up to 12-14 months and is eligible for benefits on date of hire.  Benefits include medical, dental, 401(k), and more.

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Clerk performs complex procurement to pay (P2P) assignments in compliance with applicable company and industry requirements and contractual agreements. The Purchasing Clerk also supports the Buyer and assists the Sr. Supply Chain Manager with inventory monitoring, supplies and material data maintenance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years purchasing experience
  • Enrollment in PMAC preferred
  • SCMP Certification preferred
  • ERP skills and disciplines such as SAP and Syteline preferred
  • Experience with MRP/material planning tools required
  • Proven proficiency in purchasing in a manufacturing environment highly preferred

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong MS Office skills along with an ability to learn and understand the functionality and objectives of an ERP system;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to read, comprehend, and write correspondence and reports in English;
  • Strong ability to negotiate and manage business relationships across multiple levels of staff across the organization;
  • Proven experience analyzing suppliers and negotiating and implementing contractual terms;
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, profit, percentages, unit of measure conversions, etc.;
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors and ensures that suppliers deliver on time and resolves issues with suppliers when shipments are late;
  • Helps reduce costs for the organization by negotiating better contracts, payment terms and prices with suppliers as well as staying abreast of industry trends relating to material price fluctuations;
  • Prepares and places purchase orders with vendors/suppliers, according to established company procedures and processes;
  • Works with Quality and R&D to ensure products and materials received are within production specifications and communicates concerns with the vendor and internal parties as required;
  • Uses ERP to analyze and track inventory levels and make recommendations regarding delivery time and quantity in order to effectively manage inventory levels;
  • Documents processes and procedures related to the P2P cycle and identifies ways to improve purchasing processes and procedures;
  • Prepares requests for proposals (RFP) for suppliers, reviewing proposals and negotiating prices and terms;
  • Confirms appropriate signing authority per the current matrix on all purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts and other related documents;
  • Assists in the selection, qualification and evaluation process of vendors, including security clearance, set up of the suppliers’ maintenance of their profile in the system;
  • Maintains Vendor Performance Evaluation Review records, ensuring semi-annual update are complete;
  • Receives, analyzes investigates, responds to Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and negotiates settlement for approval by the Sr. Supply Chain Manager;
  • Assists in the processing of approved Corporate credit card purchases;
  • Provides reports and represents the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, as assigned;
  • Assists in the support and execution of Freight/Carriage, Import/Export duties;
  • Complies with G+D Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures;
  • Other related tasks as assigned
