Product Manager (m/f/d)

G+D, ePayments is looking for a Product Manager to lead product innovations into potential market use cases for G+D’s Public, Transit and Enterprise Business. This position is of strategic importance to the successful market development of G+D, and the ideal candidate will play a key role in contributing to innovation and commercial success.

Your responsibilities

• Manage existing product developments and initiate the creation of new products and related business cases throughout the entire lifecycle—from idea to market success.
• Serve as a role model and contact for other team members regarding the overall product creation process.
• Demonstrate full understanding and drive of the product creation process, managing all tasks within the given budget and time frames.
• Use your experience and knowledge to predict market developments and create commercial plans, including P&L and strategies, for G+D to benefit from these developments—be innovative.
• Provide a high level of product expertise to keep products and services future-ready and create new applications for industry-leading products.
• Stay closely up to date with global demands and trends for secure applications to expand existing customer business; identify and create new business opportunities to drive innovation and commerciality.
• Be a competent partner for product development, marketing, and sales.
• Proactively analyze business, draw conclusions, and act upon them; drive profitability and efficiency.
• Represent G+D’s values and technical expertise to customers and business partners.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and interlinked departments to enable an efficient product creation process and ensure product excellence.
• Initiate, maintain, and coordinate with technology and sales partners.
• Use product management systems and interlinking functions to achieve clarity on timelines and budgets.
• Prepare and present product ranges and business-related topics, tailored to the respective audience, using relevant structure and content.
• Optimize time-to-market performance; work independently and drive projects to conclusion.

Your qualifications

• Completed university degree, preferably in business, engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Lateral thinking and ability to challenge the status quo with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Effective cooperation to maintain and develop trustful relationships.
• Strong communication skills, including effective negotiation and clear conveyance of information.
• Ability to address conflicts and work towards diplomatic solutions.
• Openness to change and support for the execution of change management initiatives.
• Basic leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Efficient planning and prioritization of daily work.
• In-depth knowledge of the respective product category.
• Advanced analytical skills, solution-driven and result-oriented approach.
• Practical experience and commercial background in at least one of the following areas: Smart Cards, e-Payment, Access Control, Authentication, and ID industry.
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, team orientation, and organizational talent.
• Experience in sales, product management, or business development.
• Familiarity with a range of smart card technologies and/or security applications; thought leader in the use of new technologies.
• Knowledge of the market globally and strong understanding of key market developments and customer needs.
