Job Summary:

The Regional Quality Manager is responsible to implement and improve the global quality process in the local entity and region as well as driving quality related certification activities and audits and maintain the required management systems for quality, environment, health and safety.The regional Quality Manager shall manage and support quality related aspects of customer requests, contract negotiations, product approvals and complaint management by interacting with customer, internal functions and suppliers.

The position is based at our Dulles, Virginia US Headquarters facility and is a hybrid role . May require up to 20 % travel.



  • Ensure the implementation and continuous improvement of global and local quality management system in the region, reduction in variation and waste, and continue to meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction, whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.
  • Manage quality related certification activities and audits
  • Manage quality aspects of customer requests, product approvals and complaint management
  • Contribute to contract negotiations, offers and customer questionnaires
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve quality performance of suppliers
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Customer Quality activities
  • Supporting and supervising of product projects from a quality point of view, ensuring that the established quality and safety criteria and the customer's requirements are met.
  • Manage quality and product approval related information in customer portals
  • Interface to customer and supplier quality management teams



  • Maintain and improve quality management system
  • Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  • Work with product development and engineering teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process quality requirements
  • Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards
  • Coordinate internal and external analysis of customer quality claims as needed incl. root cause analysis and corrective actions and formal reporting by using 8D format
  • Manage customer or certification audits
  • Conduct internal and cross-company audits
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Monitor and report on quality performance with Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System (IATF16949/ISO9001)
  • Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality
  • Support contract negotiations with customers and suppliers from quality management point of view
  • Support evaluation of projects requested by customers, determining their feasibility and setting priorities.
  • Manage quality and product approval related information in customer portals
  • Involvement, lead by Sales, in the successful delivery of the product within the stipulated time, monitoring the product and the first production(s).
  • Communication, collaboration and coordination, with the other departments of G+D MS and other G+D MS companies of the group for matters of their functionality.



Education and experience:        


  • Bachelors’ degree in a relevant manufacturing/engineering field is required
  • Significant experience in quality related ISO certifications and audits
  • Experience of working in Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Management
  • Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Preferably experience in automotive domain
  • Preferably member of an appropriate professional body
  • Preferably certified according to ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Preferably certified according to IATF 16949 and/or VDA

Knowledge and skills:   

  • Fluent written and spoken English, Spanish and Portuguese would be an asset.
  • Ability to work in a variety of cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making, and writing customer reports such as 8D reports
  • Experience in methods for root cause analysis (5W, 5-why, Ishikawa, Fishbone, Pareto etc.)
  • Preferably having basic knowledge of SAP, as well as knowledge of modern tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • High degree of business acumen in regards to stress resistance/self-control, proactive, negotiation/commercial vision skills, social skills, teamwork, self-taught, customer-oriented
