Who You Are:
You’re a tech enthusiast who loves problem-solving and wants to grow in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment. You’re curious, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions—always eager to learn and improve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining and managing runtime infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), covering basics like networking, databases, and proxies for both cloud (AWS, Azure) and on-prem setups.
- Contribute to building secure, stable, and scalable systems, following network and security best practices—with support and guidance from senior teammates.
- Help implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools so teams understand and support their applications easily.
- Support development teams with CI/CD processes—build pipelines, testing, packaging, and deployment workflows.
- Spot repetitive tasks and help automate them, promoting self-service and operational efficiency across the team.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with a public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code—especially Terraform is a major plus.
- Basic containerization knowledge (Docker) and exposure to Kubernetes/other orchestration platforms.
- Comfortable in Linux/Unix environments.
- Good scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls) and an understanding of high-availability concepts is a big plus.
- Exposure to Git/GitOps workflows—tools like ArgoCD are a bonus.
- Interest in security best practices and an eagerness to learn how to apply them.
- Problem-solving mindset and a desire to grow through collaboration.
Onboarding Plan:
Modeled after a proven technical onboarding path, your first weeks include:
- Week 1:
- Access essential systems and tools (cloud accounts, Git repos, CI/CD platforms).
- Intro to the team, key contacts, and communication channels.
- Review infrastructure and automation standards.
- Week 2:
- Guided walkthroughs on core infrastructure and deployment pipelines with a mentor.
- Study documentation and complete foundational training: IaC basics (Terraform), cloud environments, monitoring tools.
- Weeks 3-4:
- Shadow and assist on small tickets: updating automation scripts, improving basic network setups, adding monitoring/alerting components.
- Pair programming sessions for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure code.
- Weeks 5-6:
- Take ownership of a mini-project—implement a monitored service, automate a repetitive task, or contribute to a deployment workflow.
- Regular check-ins with team lead/mentor to review progress and set new learning goals.
Why This Role Is Exciting:
You get hands-on training, mentoring, and clear growth opportunities. If you’re passionate about technology, eager to learn, and ready to help shape how teams deliver and support applications, you’ll thrive here. You'll be part of a supportive group where your ideas matter and your skills get sharper every week.
