Job Summary


We are seeking a motivated, resourceful and agile individual to join our team as a Human Resources Generalist. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources the successful candidate will work and support the business groups on all HR-related matters. This role will support approximately 500 employees in Ontario, spanning across 2 sites within the one in Markham and another in Dorval Quebec. The Human Resources Generalist will support programs and initiatives that promote a high performing and engaged workforce.




  • Provide full-cycle recruitment – recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Design, roll out and tracking of mandatory and non-mandatory training for employee groups
  • Provide day to day support to managers as required to assist them in achieving their business goals and objectives
  • Participates in new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Drive policy and practice development, maintenance and dissemination of the same. 
  • Experience working with HR metrics and preparing presentations, including both researching and compiling the data, in a comprehensive way that is easy to understand




  • Understanding of HR governance, legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, senior management and external contacts.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills; both written and oral; to act as a primary contact for managers as appropriate employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and difficult communication situations.
  • Demonstrated collaborative, team player approach to work.
  • Proficiency with current software programs, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with an attention to detail
  • Trustworthy and has good judgment/decision making skills
  • Ethical and possesses integrity
  • Ability to work well in stressful and sensitive situations, individually and as part of team




  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources.


  •  A minimum of 5 years more progressively challenging HR Generalist experience. 


  • Strong coaching, facilitation skills
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Maintain all employee and management information in a strict confidential matter
  • Support policy and procedure development and maintenance process
  • Plan, organize, and run employee training
  • Provide administrative support to management 
  • Special HR projects as assigned by the Director, Human Resources 
  • Actively participate in the recruitment process, including, attracting, interviewing, updating job postings and job descriptions and presenting offers to candidates 
  • Maintain professional relationships both internally and externally that are in alignment with GDCAMS vision and values
