Education and experience

  • University degree in Computer Sciences, IT or related technical/engineering field engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Stack/DC/Cloud operations
  • A minimum of 5 years successful service operations experience in the IT, Technology and/or Security Information systems industry
  • ITIL v3 foundations certified
  • Experience from having management and/or operational leadership roles
  • Experienced in working with ticketing and monitoring systems
  • Preferably experience of managing datacenter(s) and/or cloud deployment
  • Preferably Telecommunications and/or Payment industry experience 
  • Preferably experience with working across different cultures

Job overview / summary

 

The Cloud & DC Manager is a technical job to ensure effective and efficient cloud and datacenter operations. The Cloud & DC Manager also oversees all activities associated with cloud and datacenter capacity planning and management, including the anticipation of datacenter needs.

The Cloud & DC Manager is part of Service Operations and work closely with Head Service Operations to ensure customer satisfaction from a cloud/datacenter operations perspective. In addition, the Cloud & DC Manager is the tactical interface towards Design N’ Architecture.

As the Cloud & DC Manager is responsible for cost, budget and planning of the datacenter and cloud, important skills for Cloud & DC Managers are a deep understanding and knowledge about service operations, cloud/datacenter management and/or cloud management in service delivery organizations, a good understanding of project management, ITIL processes and service managements as well as service specific knowledge related to payment, telecommunication and/or OEM solutions.

 

Accountabilities

  • Effective and efficient cloud/datacenter operations, including application operations and end-to-end services assigned to the cloud/datacenter, in accordance with defined budget and targets
  • Implementation of cloud/datacenter strategy
  • Delivery based on committed service availability and SLA requirements for deployed services
  • Cloud/datacenter capacity planning, management and anticipation of datacenter needs with input from Application Engineer, Database Engineer and IT Stack Engineer
  • Removal of old end of service/lifetime hardware and plan for migration to latest products on hardware in collaboration with Supplier Management and Design Architect
  • Datacenter routines, including periodic review of routines
  • Ensure monitoring tools are implemented in accordance with the defined guidelines from Service & Process Specialist or Design Architect
  • Implementation of guidelines and work instructions provided by Service Owner, Service & Process Specialist, Design Architect and Service Design Specialist
  • Be the interface towards the Resource Coordinator in regards to planning of activities in project and operations
  • Be the tactical interface towards Design N’ Architecture, e.g. in regards to strategic initiatives
  • Manage and maintain the architectural blueprint for services in collaboration with Design Architect

 

Responsibilities

  • Support Head Service Operations in development of cloud/datacenter strategy
  • Execute on Service Delivery & Operations strategy, including operational capabilities and roadmap
  • Provide input regarding future and continuous needs in regards to new investments to maintain existing and future services to Head Service Operations based on observations, analysis and input from Application, Database and IT Stack Engineers
  • Close collaboration with Service & Process Specialist, Design Architect and Service Design Specialist in regards to planning and executing on service specification requirements on new and existing services
  • Cost control and forecasting from cloud/datacenter operations perspective
  • Support Head Service Operations in OPEX and CAPEX planning for datacenters/cloud
  • Execution of service specification requirements on new and existing services received from Service Owners
  • Support to and interaction with other jobs and functions
    • Close collaboration with Supplier Management in Service Quality & Excellence regarding the management of new and existing suppliers, such as cloud/datacenter and cloud providers, hardware, software and infrastructure suppliers
    • Be the interface towards Design N’ Architecture in regards to datacenter, cloud, automation and transition
    • Support Design N’ Architecture in service design with input from an operational end-to-end service perspective
    • Be the interface towards R&D in regards to capacity planning
    • Review and design of database architecture in collaboration with Design Architects, Database Engineers and Second Level Support Engineers
    • Provide feedback and input to Test Engineers to enhance existing procedures
    • Setup and operations of monitoring, in collaboration with Design Architects, IT Stack Engineers and Second Level Support Engineers (for dashboards)
  • Manage time in accordance with planned and assigned activities to ensure accuracy and quality in planning
  • Follow Professional Services global policies, procedures and tools
  • Meet compliance and information security requirements in service operations
  • Evaluate, improve and add applicable work instructions
  • Identify and address day to day continuous improvement activities towards Regional Service Quality Manager and/or supervisor for further action, related to tools, procedures and compliance fulfilment
  • Timely and accurate time reporting  

 

Functional decision mandate

  • Implementing datacenter strategy
  • Staffing and resource allocation for planned activities of Service Operations resources regionally in accordance with budget
  • Prioritization of internal and customer project activities
  • Datacenter capacity planning and management for existing and new services
  • Support in defining datacenter strategy (Head Service Operations responsible)
