Team Lead - CBDC PoC and Pilot
Sant Joan Despí (BCN), ES
The Team Lead is a people-focused leadership role with strong technical ownership for the CBDC PoC and Pilot, covering client Demo, POC and pilot-oriented environments. You will guide a cross-functional team of app and full-stack developers, QA engineers and operational contributors responsible for building, maintaining and continuously improving reliable, secure, performant and customer-oriented enviroments that support demonstrations, partner integration, proof-of-concepts and pilot preparation.
Operating within a SAFe, you will translate product requirements and operational needs into an executable technical roadmap, balancing platform reliability, demo readiness, security, environment lifecycle management, automation, observability, cost awareness and long-term technical sustainability. The role requires strong people leadership as well as the ability to align Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Ops, Security and external partners around a stable, scalable and maintainable solution.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Disciplinary Management
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, accountability, and psychological safety. Take ownership of the team's overall health, morale, and engagement.
- Functional Management: Act as the primary functional manager for team members, including conducting regular one-on-ones, managing performance reviews, facilitating feedback dialogues, handling conflict resolution, and making decisions on career progression and team composition.
- Performance Management: Set clear expectations and goals for each team member — including application quality, uptime, and delivery standards. Monitor performance, provide timely constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans when necessary.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with other Team Leads and managers to ensure alignment on shared goals, promote knowledge sharing, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Outcome-Driven Planning: Understand team capacity, strengths, and growth areas to prioritise work (new feature builds, refreshes, bug fixes, environment resets) that provides business value while supporting team development.
- Mentorship & People Development: Co-create individual development plans, identify growth opportunities, provide ongoing coaching, and ensure effective onboarding for new team members joining the sandbox/demo function.
- Set and maintain team Key Performance Indicators (KPI): Collaborate with the Scrum Master to establish, maintain, and improve KPIs aligned with organisational objectives.
- Manager risks inside and outside the team: Identify, assess, track, and mitigate risks within the team and those related to relations with other teams.
Technical Leadership & Platform Ownership
- Define and own the technical roadmap for CBDC PoC and Pilot environments.
- Drive architectural decisions across mobile, web, backend, cloud, CI/CD and integration layers.
- Ensure environment reliability, observability, automation and security-by-design.
- Drive engineering standards for code quality, testing, deployment and documentation.
- Review technical concepts, architecture proposals and critical implementation decisions.
- Act as technical escalation point for complex incidents, integration issues and platform risks.
Candidate Profile
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience leading a cross-functional team of developers, QA engineers and operational stakeholders, ideally within a SAFe or comparable agile environment.
- Experience with customer-facing or partner-facing and can support pre-sales, proof-of-concept, pilot or ecosystem collaboration scenarios.
- Understanding of mobile and web application delivery, SDK dependencies, CI/CD, cloud environments, containerization and environment-as-code practices.
- Knowledge of role-based access control, least-privilege principles, user management, security reviews and compliance-oriented delivery practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering across Sales, Business Development, Product, Ops, Security and external partners
- Familiarity with CBDC, payments, wallet, POS, financial services, identity/access management or regulated technology environments.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical contributions to achieve impactful outcomes.
