Senior Production IT Systems Engineer

Senior Production IT Systems Engineer ensures technical configurations are seamlessly integrated and functioning properly to support data-driven production systems including server infrastructure, security components, proprietary technology, and related processes. Technically adept to configure and maintain systems and tools in support of card issuance and personalization services. Uses self-directed ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment and processing challenges. Proven logical skills with ability to utilize basic root cause analysis tools. Client-centric focus and collaboration with other departments is necessary to manage production uptime, system cycle times, product quality, and process improvements. Prepares necessary documents supporting change management, compliance, and audits. This position includes participation in on-call rotation, with ability to occasionally work during non-standard, flex hours.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Leverages technical expertise to troubleshoot and solve complex issues leading to production efficiency.
  • Cultivates subject matter expertise to support onboarding of product version upgrades involving integrated circuits (EMV), chip processing, personalization systems, and key management.
  • Assists with security-related activities including cryptogram generation, and key configuration ceremonies.
  • Manages production equipment backups, resolves security vulnerabilities, and supports monthly patching cycle.
  • Complies with regulatory requirements and IT-related audit activities, including ISO9001, ISO27001, and PCI-CP.
  • Adheres to IT Change Management processes using Jira tools to document and complete work assignments.
  • Adheres to company policies, follows department procedures and standard practices, and respects guidelines governing privacy, physical security, and information security.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task in managing a variety of assignments, some with competing deadlines.
  • Self-starter with ability to balance a sense of urgency against measured thinking and attention to detail.
  • Displays excellent work habits, including reliable onsite attendance and collaborative attitude.
  • Work performed in a light industrial setting; exposure to shop floor noise, and occasionally may lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Willingness to work 2nd-shift (11:00am-7:00pm), and participate in weekly on-call support rotation.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move safely around the facilities.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Self-directed with ability to maintain hardware and system configurations, as well as resolve technical conflicts. 
  • Technical competence in performing admin duties and maintenance related to server infrastructure/databases.
  • Ability to promote team collaboration while maturing IT process discipline, structure, and documentation.
  • Logical ability to analyze, deduce root cause, and troubleshoot technical challenges within complex situations.
  • Some knowledge of integrated circuits, and interest in learning secure encryption methods and techniques.
  • Strong ability to document technical details, as well as successfully translate data to non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience working in highly-regulated industries with knowledge of information security practices preferred.

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline, Computer Science, or a related degree, with 7+ years of experience; or an Associate Degree with 5+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Technical competency including computer hardware certifications such as CompTIA, A+, or similar.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with basic understanding of PLCs or industrial controls preferred.
  • Computer literacy including use of Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio).
  • Working knowledge of standard IT processes and best practices, such as GAMP-5, CMMI, ITIL is a plus.
  • Experience with integrated circuits, EMV/payment card industry (PCI), encryption standards and techniques, data security, and key management is a plus.
