Manual Operator (Day Shift)

Job Summary

The Operator is responsible for helping ensure that all secure products that are released from the Vault are provided to GDCAMS internal and external customers by following GDCAMS policies and procedures. The Vault Operator is also responsible for helping ensure that GDCAMS meets the service level agreements (SLA) by providing material to production in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide quick and reliable service for internal and external customers
  • Work & adhere to all corporate security policies and procedures
  • Perform all data entry duties
  • Escalate any business or safety concerns to the Supervisor when required.
  • Perform out-going quality inspections of Secure material as per policies and procedures
  • Move material from department to departments
  • Warehouse material on shelves or skids
  • Perform inventory audits and cycle counts
  • Perform material destruction (shredding) as per policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all shift workload/handover is communicated to appropriate staff
  • Ensure that all internal and external customer complaints are resolved in a timely manner and any unresolved issues are escalated to the Supervisor
  • Provide Supervisor with daily job status
  • Use the Time Management System (TMS) as per GDCAMS procedures

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Communicate all process changes to appropriate staff
  • Perform daily, monthly equipment Calibrations as per policies and procedures
  • Keep Vault area and work stations clean – general house keeping
  • Provide ideas/suggestion to the Supervisor for process improvement opportunities
  • Comply with G&D Environmental, Health & Safety  policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager.  Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

Work Experience:

  • 1 year equivalent work experience in a high security company

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced “manufacturing” environment
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize with good attention to detail
  • System Application Program ( SAP ) knowledge and experience would be an asset


  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Forklift operation certification/license required

Working Conditions

  • Overtime may be required
  • Fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate via phone and email
  • Safety shoes and smock required on the production floor

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Able to stand or sit for long periods of time
