Job Summary:       


Senior Production IT Systems Engineer ensures technical configurations are seamlessly integrated and functioning properly to support data-driven production systems including server infrastructure, security components, proprietary technology, and related processes. This position requires self-directed ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment and processing issues. As well, technically adept to configure and maintain EMV-related tools in support of card issuance and personalization services.  Excellent customer-service skills with strong ability to identify and resolve issues, including after-hours situations. Strong collaboration with other departments is necessary to ensure production uptime of systems, and avoid negative impact to product quality and cycle times, and improve processes. Prepares necessary documents for change management and compliance purposes.  Participates in security and compliance audits.  Conducts technical product onboardings and assists with key management and encryption. This position requires on-call rotation, with ability to occasionally work during non-standard, flex hours.


Job Duties:


  • Leverages technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues leading to production efficiency.
  • Builds subject matter expertise related to EMV chip processing, personalization systems, and key management.
  • Responsible for IT engineering-related audit and compliance activities, including ISO9001, ISO27001, and PCI-CP.
  • Guides local site qualifications to implement onboarding of new chip product versions and client upgrades.
  • Provides customer service (internal/external) and resolves incidents as part of 7x24 on-call support rotation.
  • Manages production equipment backups, resolves security vulnerabilities, and supports monthly patching cycle.
  • Participates in secure Key activities including cryptogram generation, and key configuration ceremonies.
  • Adheres to IT Change Management process using Jira tools to document and complete work assignments.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Adheres to company policies, follows department procedures and standard practices, and respects guidelines governing privacy, physical security, and information security.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task in managing a variety of assignments, some with competing deadlines.
  • Self-starter with ability to balance a sense of urgency against measured thinking and attention to detail.
  • Displays excellent work habits, including collaborative attitude, punctual attendance, and appropriate dress.
  • Work performed in a light industrial setting; exposure to shop floor noise, and occasionally may lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Willingness to work occasional flex shift and on-call support rotation; limited travel may be required.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach and move safely around the facilities.
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Strong technical leadership skills, including mentoring other team members and delegation when appropriate.
  • Self-directed with ability to maintain hardware and system configurations, as well as resolve technical conflicts. 
  • Technical competence in performing sysadmin duties and maintenance related to server infrastructure within physical and virtual VMWare environments involving MS-Windows, Linux, and SQL Server databases.
  • Ability to promote team collaboration while maturing IT process discipline, structure, and documentation.
  • Logical ability to analyze, deduce root cause, and troubleshoot technical challenges within complex situations.
  • Some knowledge of integrated circuits, and interest in learning secure encryption methods and techniques.
  • Strong ability to document technical details, as well as successfully translate data to non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience working in highly-regulated industries with knowledge of information security practices preferred.
  • Experience maintaining physical & virtual servers (VMWare/Xen) within manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of standard IT processes and best practices, such as GAMP-5, CMMI, ITIL is a plus.




  • Bachelor Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related degree, with 7+ years of experience; or an Associate Degree with 5+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Preferred technical certifications include CompTIA, A+, or similar.
  • High level of computer competency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio).
  • Prior experience within EMV/payment card industry (PCI), encryption standards and techniques, data security, and key management is a plus.
